About the Book
No one ever wants to think about death. No one wants to talk about it – let alone prepare for it. But the one inevitability in life is death, and sooner or later, you will have to deal with the passing of a loved one. A parent, sibling, child, spouse – life happens and death happens. So then what? Most people will be thrown into the deep end with very little knowledge, if any, of everything that follows. The tasks are extensive and complicated, and for those exhausted by grief, they are daunting and formidable. To the uninitiated, it’s an overwhelming nightmare.
That's what happened to my family when my sister died suddenly, unexpectedly, without a will, and across the country in a city we'd never been to. It was a terrible experience, and I wrote this book with the hope that it might spare others the hardship we endured. Although I cannot alleviate the pain of losing a loved one, by providing a clear and concise road map, I hope to make a difficult time a little easier.
